Where is FPYC?
The camp is located in the midst of the beautiful lakes and woods of the George Washington State Forest in Northern Minnesota. It is found on Highway 1, about 6 miles west of the junction of Highway 1 and Highway 65, about 35 miles north of Nashwauk, Minnesota.

What is the Focus?
Worshipping God and studying His word are the focus of all activities at FPYC. There are Bible studies, devotionals around the campfire, and worship in the lodge. Singing hymns of praise and devotion is always a part of Christian camping.

What Else is Happening?
Special activities: Picnics, cookouts, campfire programs, treasure and scavenger hunts, and crazy olympics, junior carnival, and a catacomb service add to the fun. Or how about a game of capture the flag? Since the camp is located in the center of the George Washington State Forest, there are many opportunities for hiking and nature study. Canoe trips and overnight camping are high points of the camping experience at FPYC. Different, age-appropriate activities are selected for each session.
Daily Crafts: For a change of pace, the crafts center will be open. Painting, metal sculpture, wood carving, plaster and wood plaques, beads and lacing are only a sample of the things to do.

Sports:
Sports are also a part of any camp experience. There is volleyball, basketball, softball, soccer, tetherball, and ping pong. A new and well-liked sport is multi-ball soccer! On the lake there is swimming, fishing, paddle boating, and canoeing.

Awards:
Awards will be given for achievement in many activities. Campers are challenged to work on and receive the Bible, Honor Cabin, Camp Improvement and Master Camper awards. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 year awards are given to individuals for milestones of camp attendance.

Who may come?
Anyone who likes the fun and adventure of being outdoors may be a camper at FPYC. Children and youth of any race, religious affiliation or national origin may attend the camp.

* Family Camps: Adults and children of all ages
* Youth Camp/Challenge Camp: Ages 9-18 (age 9 by Sept.1st)

To be a cabin camper you must be at least nine years old and be entering the fourth grade next fall. To attend Senior Week, you must be at least 14 years old. Young people are eligible to attend so long as they are in high school, including those who will graduate this spring.

What does it cost?
The camp operates, half on camp fees, half on donations. A great effort is made to keep camp fees low so that the Christian camp experience is open to as many as possible. Also, camperships (camp scholarship) can be extended to those truly in need. Money should never be a reason for not coming to camp.

How much should I bring for canteen and crafts?
Junior Camp has canteen once a day and a crafts time every day also. Senior Camp has canteen twice daily and crafts once a day. At canteen a camper can buy 2 snack items. Each item is $ .75. The canteen also sells items with the camp logo for various amounts-from $.50 to $30 for a hooded rain jacket. There are t-shirts, hats, blankets and sweats, etc……We serve big meals 3 times a day and water is always available, so canteen is just an option for something different.

All Junior Campers have a craft time. There are many items to make for no cost that have been donated. There are also items to buy and put together or paint. At all other camp sessions being in the craft room is optional, because there are other activities that can be done during that time, and campers would need to buy their projects. The items start at about $.50, for beads to make a bracelet, to a $10 ceramic item to paint. There are many, many projects and someone in the room to help them complete it, whether it was a free or bought craft.

Who’s on Staff?
The counselors are key people at FPYC. They are outstanding young people, recruited from among the students of many Christian Colleges. They are interested in helping others grow spiritually while having fun. There are also cooks, kitchen helpers, caretakers, Bible teachers and activity directors. The staff members at FPYC are all members of the church of Christ.

How do I Register?
The first thing to do is register for camp. When you register, you will be sent a letter of confirmation along with a number of important items: a list of things to bring, and a copy of the camp rules. Please review all of these items carefully. Register early to ensure that you receive these materials in advance so you can be prepared for camp.
